"Only" 1 in 6? Over 42.5 MILLION iPhones have been sold. That means 7.1 million people are already intending to buy a product no one has even tried yet. That's HUGE! And it includes significant built in profit margins that can be trimmed to incentivize sales.

They didn't have that much demand for iPhone in summer of 2007.

Folks, this story is a prime example of how to mislead with statistics (or lack of analysis).

What they missed are those of us who have cells and an iTouch and will upgrade to an iPad. Additionally, if the iTouch is as good as they say, I will probably get a wireless mpbile internet connection and use that to run my iTouch. Also, since it it so cheap, I will get a couple for my family members as an aux to the desktop computer they now have. So there's three.
