Well it's about time! Ms. Rogers was too much in the spotlight, I never knew who the "party planner" was for Laura Bush or Nancy Reagan or any of the other first ladys for that matter. So now my next queation is, when is Valerie leaving? she should be next

If you had paid attention, you would have known who Bush and Reagan's social secretary was, as well as Clinton's, Carters, and even the Kennedy's social secretary. They were in the media spotlight as well. Ms. Rogers should have never quit, and Ms. Jarrett should stay put as well. You know nothing about the inner workings of the white house, or maybe even your house, and to single these two women out makes me think that something racial is in your mind. Someone as bright and dynamic as Ms. Rogers don't need to hide in the background. She will do well whatever her future plans are.

Desire is not a public official, and was not elected. SARAH PALIN QUITS, Desiree reign, quit the BS already. Afterall these people got OBAMA elected and I would expect them to move on at some point, back to the corporate world and also to begin to set the stage for 2012 because the powers that be are already gunning for Obama, but I can gurantee two things, OBAMA will be standing tall in 2010 November when the Democrats are vendicated and again in 2012 when he is elected and the Democrats house with him with a plurality of votes and a majority that have never happen in world history. OBSTRUCTING CHANGE has consequences!

In further news today, rebooblican senator Foop "gummy" Shoose, has put a hold on the appointment of the new White House social director in an effort to look like a hero to his tea-baggin' base constituents.

You have just that -- Tribal Knowledge. You know nothing about her, yet you make "poor choice" statement. You sound like a hater.

Why is it then that she is the only Social Secretary to have her own table at an event. To busy being Chicago. Get back to Chicago.

Good!

Based upon what I've read, she did nothing seriously wrong

However, the impression given is the opposite and, image meaning as much as it does in politics, she's done the administration a favor by leaving

Obama and the White House is settling into the rough and tumble of Washington politics. There is no more room for the grace and style of a Desiree Rogers. As for her prospects, she was doing fine before going to the White House, she'll do even better having been there.

How many state dinners have been "crashed" before last year's party? I wonder why people are hyperventilating about the 2009 state dinner. No, I know why.

Desiree made a grievous mistake that got her fired. To her defenders: what major corporation is going to hire her? She is a black womam whose name is immersed in scandal; and as such, she will have a tougher row to hoe. Sarah Palin, aka _______________ (fill in the blank for your favorite nickname), is intellectually and ethically (remember Troopergate?) challenged; but still is considered a force(?) in conservative politics and a strong contender for the White House in 2012. (God help us.) Is anyone talking about Ms. Rogers being an asset to any company who gets her? No. Instead she is branded as a flamboyant, fame-craving fashionista who would put her organization, this case the White House, at risk for personal glory.

My point is that when a black person is caught up in bad press, he or she will get the worst of it, Sad to say it is only a matter of time before some adult industry executiive will announce the release of a porn parody DVD of Rogers, as they did Palin. But unlike Palin, she will not get a gig as a news contributor.

I'm trying to understand what you are saying...is it your point that racism will affect Desiree's future employability?
04:37 PM on 02/28/2010
Yes. My point is both women have issues that would give any employer pause, but for an African American it will be tougher to overcome a serious blot on one's record.

why do you say that she will get the worst of it? rather, the reverse is true? she will courted, invited, solicited, wooed, to the extreme. she can write her own ticket. that is the way of the world, madame.
