So you guys are saying that Muse caused an Earthquake? Is that it? Or was it the shockwaves generating from your fat rolls caused by Muse rocking out on your boombox?

I mean that's about as likely as like ya know, shooting a nuclear bomb at a fault line and it causing an earthquake.

Or ya know GOD doing it.

This is so sad. After Haiti I thought that maybe there wouldn't be another disaster like that for a while. But now we have a chance again to prove that we as citizens of this world can dig deep and help or fellow man.I may be just 15 but I plan on giving what little earnings I have left from my summer job and pledge it to this

They just fired up the super collider again today and are going to increase the power every day to see what they can discover.
The problem is is that they don't know what kind of reactions this will cause. It's like playing with fire when you have no water to put it out with.
I consider this very dangerous to our enviroment with "possible" ramifications around the world.

How is it that you are connecting the Hadron Collider with the earthquake in Chile? The tubes in the collider are a pure vacuum, protected by a magnetic field. If something went wrong there, wouldn't the quake have been in Europe? You conspiracy nuts cannot accept the fact that bad things happen. I pray for all the people affected by this quake.

Why don't you read up on the ramifications if things go wrong, balance out the theories, and realize that every action has a reaction.
Why is it that us "conspiracy nuts" as you call us, take the time and energy to get past main stream news blocking to get the facts. Anytime we disagree with you, we are "nuts" because we don't live in a bubble mentality. Sometimes the truth is uncomfortable and gee, you don't like that, do you. It's easier to go with the flow.
I also didn't say this had anything to do with Chile, but the possibilities are there that manipulation of our atmosphere and physical properties by manmade technology can be very dangerous---.
Read up on the atom bomb and how scientists didn't know if the reaction would continue or not, yet were willing to chace our planet it wouldn't.

I have this Firefox addon called "eQuake!" that makes my browser window jump around every time there is an earthquake - how much, depending on how strong the quake was.

All I can say is I'm getting a headache...the last two days my browser window jumps around all the time.

Well I don't know where you are, but here in Santiago the aftershocks continue to occur every 30 minutes or so. Have just been up for a short while today, so hoping it begins to calm down, but they are telling us two months to one year.

I have that same add-on and after Haiti it went on like crazy (never mentioned in newsreports) I was sure this was not the end of it.
Ever since then in and around the Pacific there have been strong shakes...check out USGS if you don't believe me.
At this point it's less turbulent, but that's easy for me to speak, here from Europe.
It's not over yet. All around the world strange things happen. All perfectly scientifically explainable, now or in a few centuries. That doesn't change the fact, we all need to prepare for the worst.

and the buildings were much firmer in withstanding than haiti's because of the effort. you are talking 3rd world: dictatorial corruption versus efforts to bring standards to people.

Well, I will say it. Faux news did not cover Haiti "all day" because Haitians are black.

Disgusting, but sadly, true.
12:56 PM on 03/01/2010
You are so wrong! Fox News covered Haiti almost 24/7 the first two days, and probably 50% of their time for the next two weeks. Geraldo was there for at least 2 weeks along with Orlando Salinas.
Why is it that only the loons bring up race? Quit holding onto your racism blankie and join the rest of the grown up world.
12:41 PM on 03/01/2010
Bull!!! I watched FoxNews all day when haiti was hit. They may have updated on the rest of the world, instead of staying constantly glued to Haiti. But they don't need to show carnage 24-7 to get viewers like CNN or MSNBC. They covered the story everyday almost all day for 2 weeks.

What I found most interesting was the comments of Ceclia Lagos interviewed in the NYT article, describing the events. "The sky was changing color, flashes of different colors."

Could this mean HAARP?

What else could this have been? Is there another physical phenomenon that could explain this in nature?
09:39 AM on 02/28/2010
It could be something as simple as exploding electrical transformers. I had one blow up near my house once, and it lit up the entire city sky briefly. Electricity can be pretty bright when it's released!
10:20 AM on 02/28/2010
That's a natural phenomenon during some earthquakes.
