Joseph Kennedy Not Running For Congress

Joseph P. Kennedy III, the grandson of Robert Kennedy, told the Boston Globe that he will not run for Congress in 2010.

Kennedy, 29, who is an assistant district attorney in Massachusetts, was widely viewed as a potential contender for the House seat now occupied by Rep. Bill Delahunt (D-Mass.). There has been speculation that Delahunt may decide to retire and not seek re-election.

But Kennedy will not be in the running.

"I think that we've got a great congressman. He continues to serve the people of the 10th District well," he told the Globe. "I'm a longtime supporter of his, and I hope he runs again."

Kennedy did not rule out a future career in politics, saying that elective office is "something I'm definitely interested in."

Science prevails. One cannot irrefute the evidence of DNA, any more than one can dispute the rising of the sun or the planets' progression through the Heavens. Red hair is a genetic relic from our Neanderthal distant cousins. A lot of strange actions can be attrributed to this scientific fact; it clears up a multitude of questions.

Whatever the personal issues, this family used to stand up for a lot that is good. Sad to see them reduced to looking out for their Nantucket Sound views. Here's your chance, Joe. Care to make a difference?

He has his eyes on Scott Brown's/Uncle Teddy's Senate seat.

For such a liberal family there is not a single sign of interracial marriage in that entire clan. I suggest adding some color to at least protect their offspring against skin cancer.

Kennedy's are ok with me, they have proven to be a family that really cares about American issues.

Man...Will this ever end? I thought Camelot was to disappear like Avalon and Atlantis. Wasn't that one of the benefits of Ted Kennedy going to his maker?

It's great that ADA Kennedy has announced he won't seek the 10th district seat (still held by Delahunt) yet politics very well might be in his future. Lucky MA and lucky US when that occurs.

There are a lot of Asst. DA's across this country, who are very young. So your comment does not make sense.

It doesn't take connections. It's brains and the ability to perform a job with skill and competence.

So then all of you that are complaining about the Kennedy's inhering money support the continuation of the estate tax? Somehow I doubt it.

I'd love to see "little" Teddy Kennedy III, Senator Kennedy's grandson, run for the seat that his great uncle and grandfather held for more than 50 years. He was so cute at the memorial service. He gave interviews to reporters and asked them to send copies to him for his own campaign.

He's only 11 now, but who knows..

Regarding the comments by SPQR 1775, I would
recommend reading the below:

Because you see the name nader, don't dismiss the article, read it before reaching a conclusion. Thanks

Maybe he's saving himself for a 2012 Senate run against Scott Brown. I would love to see a new generation of Kennedy back in that seat

Because as a Senate candidate the citizens of MA might find him a better representative of their political bent than Brown and more likable than Coakley..
