Facing a budget crisis of catastrophic proportions, and stuck between the rock of raising taxes and the hard place of slashing human services, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn asked his constituents that ever-important question: "If you're so smart, why don't you do it yourselves?"

Last week, Quinn's office launched a website, budget.illinois.gov, that hosts the Governor's budget plans, as well as an open forum for citizens to propose their own solutions to the budget crisis.

Illinoisans have made over 2,300 posts to the site, with a number of innovative ideas (and some pretty nasty ones as well); many of the plans, large and small, have been rounded up and analyzed elsewhere.

But we figured we'd bring to light a few of the more off-beat solutions to Illinois's massive budget deficit. Vote on which ones you like best!
