Roman Polanski's "The Ghost Writer" premiered last week, and became just the most recent blockbuster thriller to be based on a book -- Robert Harris's "The Ghost." In a year when four out of the ten movies nominated for the Best Picture Oscar were based on books, we've been thinking about the best book-to-movie adaptations. A lot of the great ones have been typical "guy" books -- the thrillers, the organized crime novels, the westerns.

Ladies, did you read the book? Did you see the movie? Or did you leave your husband/boyfriend in another room to indulge? Willing to give any of these a try?
