Seventeen food manufacturers, including a few that produce organic products, have been issued warning letters by the FDA about their front-of-package labeling. The FDA believes the labels misrepresent the health benefits of the foods. If the manufacturers do not comply and correct the labels, the food could be pulled from shelves.

Good start.
I wish they would stop those rice and nut cracker companies from saying they are gluten free quite noticeably on the product front while they also say on the back in small print processed with equipment that also processes wheat!

Way to go, FDA. Now move on to debunking the absurd claims in nutritional supplement marketing, and you will be yet another baby step closer to doing what the American people expect of you.

Well if this is the case and the labels are misleading, then why not label foods that contain genetically modified ingredients?
