Report On Naked Girls Reading, Underwater Hockey, Cocktails And Clay, Zine Fest

The Huffington Post Chicago is looking for reporters to help us cover cool events around town. We've received some wonderful coverage from citizen journalists since we launched the Assignment Desk, including most recently a review of an old-time string band show and a sneak peak of the Field Museum's latest exhibit.

If you want to try your hand at some citizen journalism while catching some great (and unusual) happenings around Chicago, this gig is for you. If you see something you'd be interested in reporting, scroll down and click "Join Now" at the bottom of the story to get started.

Up this week:

Naked Girls Reading Presents: Olde Tyme Radio Show

Naked Girls Reading got its start one year ago, right here in Chicago, and it's just exactly what it sounds like. The concept has spread like wildfire, hosting events in five cities and getting a ton of press along the way. Now, the girls are celebrating their first anniversary with a radio-themed reading. "Listen to classic radio drama scripts, vintage news reports and even a controversial modern morsel or two - exquisitely read by our even more exquisitely unclad ladies," says the website. Alan Gresik will accompany on piano, and, they say portentously, "we'll be making a huge announcement" at the show.

When: Friday, March 12 at 7 p.m.

Chicago Underwater Hockey

Your guess is as good as ours. Might want to bring a photographer, or a camera at least. Might also want to bring a swimsuit--all practices are open to beginners, and nothing's better than an embedded journalist.

Cocktails And Clay At Hyde Park Art Center

"Think night on the town meets playing in the mud," the Hyde Park Art Center tells us. They'll have clay for all, with 45-minute pottery workshops in their studios. While you're not getting your Swayze on with clay, get your Swayze on on the dance floor, with a live DJ and drink specials all night.
