Tom Hanks Can't Wait To Buy Karl Rove's Book At A Discount (VIDEO)

First Posted: 05/04/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 04:45 PM ET

On Thursday, actor Tom Hanks joined Tina Brown and Nicole Wallace on "Good Morning America" with George Stephanopoulos to discuss Karl Rove's new memoir, 'Courage and Consequence', among other things.

After Brown and Wallace weighed in on the timing of the book release and Rove's insistence that the Iraq war was a good idea, Stephanopoulos turned to Hanks: "You ready to read about this?"

"I can't wait to buy Karl Rove's book when it's discounted in the discount bin," Hanks replied. "He has a right to write a book. It'll be interesting to a degree. I'm sure he's going to just blow the lid off of everything and tell the complete truth about those 8 years."

It's a dangerous gamble for Republicans to write booky things. If the lap-it-up wingbats are lured into a bookstore, who knows what dangerous ideas they may be exposed to...

Judging from the excerpts I've read so far, this thing would have been more appropriately titled 'Lies and Lie-Ability'

Karl Rove's book could really come in handy...if I'm lost in the woods and need to start a fire.

Hanks was quite good at the craft wasn't he? His dead pan delivery was spot on.

It takes b@lls for a guy even like Tom Hanks to express his true opinion is this right-wing owned country.

He's going to get a lot of grief from the Faux News/ GOP TV trolls.

No doubt Rove's book will be a huge hit on the NY Times Best Seller List. Not because a lot of people will buy it, only because a lot of right wing owned companies and blogs will buy massive numbers of the books and then give them away or sell them for peanuts.

They're building a humungous underground warehouse deep below the Utah sands just to store all the millions of copies of Rove's rag right-wing groups will buy.

I've always been a big fan of Tom Hanks work. Everyone can disagree, but his role in 'Big' was deserving of an Oscar. He played the 10 year-old boy in a man's body to perfection. The mannerisms, the voice pattern, everything. Too bad the Academy didn't pay attention. I love his other work too, but that is his best.
His comment on Rove's book is priceless. He's so anxious to read it, he'll wait until it's in the discount bin. LOL. Which won't be long. As soon as the wingnuts fly into the bookstores and back out, there will be no more sales. Off to the discount bin!

Good one Tommy. Guess it doesn't take a Forrest Gump to see through Karl Roves lies, but it takes a little more than a Republican shill.

That would be HBO and the WWII series, The Pacific. Hanks is a very well informed person and does history really, really well - because he respects it and doesn't try to rewrite it to fit some kind of agenda the way the right wing blogesphere does, the way the right wing media does, the way the tea baggers do...
