Sarah Killen, O'Brien's First Twitter Followee: 'This Is the Most Awesome Day Ever' (VIDEO)

At the end of February, Conan O'Brien joined twitter, and his account, @ConanOBrien, exploded with followers. On Friday, O'Brien decided to follow his first twitter user:

I've decided to follow someone at random. She likes peanut butter and gummy dinosaurs. Sarah Killen, your life is about to change.

Sarah Killen, the lucky followee, was thrilled. "This is the most awesome day ever," Killen told MTV News when they caught up with her for an interview. (VIDEO below.)

After the nod from O'Brien, Killen's follower count jumped from three to over 10,000.

As of this writing, O'Brien is still following Killen, exclusively.

UPDATE 3:58 PM ET -- Conan tweets about Sarah Killen some more.

Sarah likes Twizzlers and craves cantaloupe. I like Raisinets, but melon feels creepy in my mouth. Twitter pals 4 eva! :)

mmmmmm, yummy. It's watermelon I can't stand due to the texture. Too stringy. I'm a cantaloupe/honeydew addict. During the summer we keep giant Tupperwares of it in our fridge, and go through it like crazy.

I like honeydew, but am not big on cantaloupe for some reason. It's a little too syrupy, or a little too soft, or something. Picky, I know. Both are delicious, however!

it seems like you have a sensitive mouth. i think stringy watermelon is just bad watermelon. i can usually suffer a melon texture if i like the flavor.

Not very interested in who Conan follows nor who follows him. I'm not a Conan fan at all. Although I do understand how she might feel happy to have Conan follow her. I was excited to have PZ Myers follow me. Being the agnostic leaning atheist I am and being the famous evolutionist/biologist PZ Myers is, I would have never thought my tweets were interesting enough to have him follow me. PZ is followed by over 12,000 people and he only follows about 100! I feel honored to be in that 100. I have actually tweeted back and forth with PZ a couple of times and had him re-tweet several of my tweets.

I am happy for her!!

The best thing about this is that the girl and her fiance can have a nicer wedding than they thought they'd be able to have, and that she's raising money for charity. It's amazing that something so small can have such a big impact on someone.

this kind of cr@p just proves why CoCo (sounds like a chimp) was ill-suited to host a show designed to appeal to a large segment of the US. he sounds like that 45-year-old guy who can't get over how much fun he had in college.

he had a lot of nerve to commandeer the Tonight Show away from Leno. he ought to be grateful that NBC didn't send his pale behind packing in 1993 when he had a huge hurdle to jump in getting an audience for Late Night.

I never gave him much thought until he became so annoying. now it is hard to escape him, and he gets to claim victim status. he is in better shape now than he ever was as the Tonight Show host. he ought to thank NBC again. if it weren't for their decision to adjust their schedule, he'd be languishing at 10:35.... and no one would care except all the corporations losing money from sponsoring such a heap .

The brain dead Leno audience of the Tonight Show didn't really have the ability to understand Conan'a humor. He would've won them over if he's been given sometime, just as he turned the late night show into a massive hit from basically scratch. that also took some time.

Leno is for people who've given up on life. And Tea baggers.
