In spite of a gargantuan federal deficit weighing in at $1.5 trillion, the Department of Commerce just mailed 120 million letters telling people like me that we will receive a Census questionnaire within a week.
The 2010 Census will go ahead, just as it has every ten years since 1790, but the mystery is why, in this economy, so many Census positions are taking so long to fill.
