Alabama's football team visited the White House today to commemorate their national championship. President Obama addressed the team and closed his remarks with Alabama's trademark "roll tide."

While Republican senator and frequent Obama administration adversary Richard Shelby attended the event, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was not. He hails from the home of Alabama's arch-rival, Auburn, and was "hiding in his office," according to the president. Scroll down for photos from the White House visit.
