Jean Paul Gaultier For Target Selling Out Online, But Not In Stores

Jean Paul Gaultier's collection for Target is almost sold out online...but left nearly untouched in stores, according to various blogger reports. One commenter on Racked wrote:

"I went to Atlantic Terminal Target in Brooklyn yesterday and was sorely disappointed...there was a good selection with lots of sizes, but the fabrics are ever so much worse in person than online."

The tattoo printed top, swimwear, and transparent halter dress looked so cheap that I had to cringe. As I stroked the yellow halter dress, I noted that the nylon fabric felt like a deflated balloon - not something I'd want on a day dress. The length on the halter dresses was so long I think it would only flatter a woman of six feet.

But The Recessionista actually made a purchase:

I bought [a] chic, blue polyester top with the cut-out solders ala Donna Karan. Its very sleek, looking on, and it has an amazing (for Target especially) gold chain tie hardware closure at the waist. The fit is blousy, and comfortable. I actually bought it in a smaller size.

This polyester jersey in blue looks much more expensive than it is. For $29.99, its really a good value. It also comes in a striped version, but I preferred it in this blue. The color is striking.

Keep us posted if you pass by a Target!
