I was hoping this explained the source of 'green eggs'.

When I was in the Army - in the field - they'd bring scrambled eggs in airtight cannisters. They would arrive a solid green color, supposedly because of the lack of oxygen right after cooking. It looked nasty, but tasted great. I always assumed this was Dr Seuss' source.
