Assistant College Football Coaches Cash In

Assistant football coaches have become some of the most well-paid figures on college campuses.

According to USA Today, more than ten NCAA schools have inked contracts with offensive and defensive coordinators that will cost them 38 percent more in salary fees this year.

Among the most high-rolling assistant coaches include University of Tennessee defensive coodinator Monte Kiffin, who pulls in $1.2 million annually, and the University of Texas' Will Muschamp, who makes $900,000.

In a 2009 report analyzing football coach salaries, USA Today discovered that Tennessee and Texas spend $3.3 million and $2.98 million on assistant coaches per year, respectively.
