Sean Carroll, a theoretical cosmologist, was on "The Colbert Report" last night to talk about his new book "From Eternity to Here" and the quest to find a new theory of time. Time, he says, is one of the great mysteries of science, and we still don't have a good understanding of the difference between past and future, and why the distinction exists. He also discussed the multiverse theory, in which there could be thousands of universes similar to our own that ours came out of. It's likely, he admitted, that in one of these other universes, "The Colbert Report" would be on at 11 and "The Daily Show" would be at 11:30.
