Louie Gohmert, Texas Congressman, Compares White House Staffers To 'Clowns' In A 'Circus'

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Tex.) delivered a winding, allegorical rant on the floor of Congress Friday, in which he used last year's Salahi gate-crashing incident to complain about enhanced security measures on Capitol Hill and to prove his belief that the White House is incapable of dealing with larger challenges.

Though the Secret Service has accepted full responsibility for the gate-crashing fiasco, Gohmert used the incident to draw connections to the Obama administration's ability to deal with health care reform.

"It is a circus going on over there and now the people of the circus want to be in charge of your health care," Gohmert said. "Good grief, it's time to say we don't want clowns in charge of something as important as our health care."

For emphasis the Texas Republican added: "I don't even want them in charge of algae blooms."
