KHL Goalie Attacked By Fan, Gets Concussion (VIDEO)

During a KHL playoff game in Yekaterinburg, Russia, a fan stormed the rink, grabbed an opposing goalie's stick and assaulted him in the head with it. Vitaly Kolesnik, a backup goalie for Salavat Yulayev Ufa, was diagnosed with a concussion. The former Colorado Avalanche player says he is lucky to escape relatively unharmed: "Doctors who treated me said if the hit was just a centimeter or two to the side, I could have been dead or left paralyzed."

The home team, Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg, has been fined $34,000 for the attack and authorities plan to pursue criminal charges against the assailant.
