The "John Cusack In The Rain" Montage (VIDEO)

First Posted: 05/18/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 04:55 PM ET

In the end of his movies, John Cusack gets the girl. That's what John Cusack does. But before he can swoop the girl (who's supposedly too good for him) off her feet, it's essential that he has an emotional breakthrough (or breakdown) in the rain. That is the key to his success.

Cusack's been called an everyman. That's misleading. Not every man has a rain cloud continuously following him around. (via moviefone)

You know one Christmas my grandmother got 5 unbrellas and exclaimed "Why everyone thinks I'm going to get rained on this year. My jello eatin days must be over. "

For a little change or weather, he is snowed upon in "Serendipity."

John Cusack has got to be one of my favorite actors.Like Johnnie Depp, Sean Penn, and Matt Damon, just their name associated with a film is enough to make me want to see it. I know on occasion he may be in a stinker (compared to the many good films he's done), but he//, everybody has got to eat.

I think my overall favorites are "The Jack Bull" and "High Fidelity, and "Identity". All great movies.

I don't remember a rain scene is my favorite movie of his -- Grosse Pointe Blank, but beyond that the guy does seem to get seriously wet often.

Gross Pointe is one of the funniest movies ever!
I love the scene when the dad (hiding from the gunmen in the tub) gives his blessing to the couple! LOL

"Swords to plowshares". What are the chances?
As long as there is greed, I'm afraid it's a dismal prospect.

Hey, the guy can't help it that he looks great drenched. I would give Lloyd my heart, not a pen.

I never noticed he had so many scenes in the rain....lol (I bet HE has tho) Pretty cute video. Pushing Tin & High Fidelity are favorites.

Wow. SOMEONE'S jealous! I recall several movies where John isn't caught in the rain. Not that I would mind that...yum. The author of this hit piece, however, is ALL WET...
Take that any way you want to...it's not even close to how John affects me. :)))))

Cusack is one of the most competent actors performing in film. In fact he reigns supreme.
08:12 AM on 03/19/2010
So explain his last few movies including the upcoming "Hot Tub" which looks beyond bad.
12:33 PM on 03/19/2010
He has made some clunkers (Better Off Dead comes to mind).

This is just one more thing to confirm my unwavering opinion that John Cusack is the biggest wimp actor in Hollywood.

If you ever need a actor to play a character who is complaining about something the whole film, or a character who is hart broken about something stupid, hire John Cusack.

His wimpy, soaking wet, pulsating, engorged vulnerability. MotherF***er still gets laid.

Here I go, sapping out, being a fan.

'Engorged vulnerability'. Huh. I never really saw him that way. Yummy, you're correct.
But my fan-imagination pegs his vulnerability more as openness with his conflicts with things like nihilism, misanthropy, and a desire to feel hope.

What I see in his big, round, sad, googoo, brown eyes is not vulnerability or wimpiness so much, as it is a profound disgust for most of the human race in terms of mass stupidity, a deep inner rage against injustice, and a deep and sad awareness that the human race is headed for the cra.pper.

How's that for projection? =]]
