Casey Anderson Teaches Best Friend Brutus The Bear How To Swim (VIDEO)

In anticipation of National Geographic's new US network, Nat Geo Wild, we're previewing various clips from some of their wild new shows.

In the premiere episode of Expedition Wild, naturalist Casey Anderson travels to the Alaskan wilderness to watch wild bears fish for salmon and feed their young. Hoping to pick up a few techniques, Anderson returns to Montana in the hopes of teaching his best bud, Brutus the 800-pound grizzly bear, how to fish for himself.

Brutus, raised in captivity, was living at an overcrowded wildlife park when Anderson rescued him from euthanasia and built a sanctuary just for him. Brutus, now 7 years old, is a natural performer and very comfortable around people. Together with Anderson, he has worked on feature films and television shows. They even educate people on grizzly conservation.

But having grown up in captivity, will Brutus be able to learn the skills of his untamed relatives? Find out when Expedition Wild premieres on April 5th.
