The Daily Pennsylvanian:

The suicides of two Cornell University students earlier this month triggered concerns about collegiate stress levels.

The men's deaths -- which were unrelated and came on the heels of a February suicide -- brought the total number of suicides at Cornell for the academic year to six. This led Cornell's Mental Health Initiatives Director Timothy Marchell to declare a "public-health crisis."

I just hate to see these kids take their lives. Now that I have recently returned to uni myself to work on my Masters I can see how the stresses of today's university, especially the cost, can drive someone over the edge. When your paying thousands of dollars for an education, and you either get instructors who can speak english well enough to work the country at McDonnalds so you basically have to teach yourself the subject, and the ever rising cost , its not hard to see how it can happen to someone.
I cant imagine paying for an Ivy greed education though. I know if I was being brainwashed by an Ivy greed education system, Id do myself in too. I have morals, and ivy greed schools suck those from your very being. Its gotta suck.

Methinks thou doth protest too much. You sound like someone who wanted to go to an Ivy League school but didn't get in any, hence you bash them senseless despite not knowing what they're really like from the inside. But oh how you wish.

My condolences to those who have taken their lives. But I do hope the university talk more with students to find out exactly what is so depressing him. These needs to be investigated more conclusively.

is this due to the "ann coulter statements" about how she speaks at ivy league colleges all the time and they "like her"??.........no wonder they jump off buildings here....

This is a very low class attempt to capitalize on the suicides of a few young people in order to mock Ann Coulter. Take your Coulter schtick to the Coulter story and maintain some dignity here.

Coulter and Keith Olbermann are engaged in a bizarre but real feud over their alma mater, Cornell University.
Earlier this week, Coulter wrote a column trashing Olbermann and alleging that he didn't attend "the real Cornell" because he went to one of the University's state schools, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (known as the Ag School).
Coulter wrote that Olbermann "is constantly lying about his nonexistent 'Ivy League' education" despite the fact that he "didn't go to the Ivy League Cornell; he went to the Old MacDonald Cornell."
Olbermann's incessant lying about having an "Ivy League education" when he went to the non-Ivy League ag school at Cornell would be like a graduate of the Yale locksmithing school boasting about being a "Yale man."
Olbermann responded on "Countdown" Thursday night, naming Coulter one of his Worst Persons in the World and displaying his Cornell degree for all to see. He also corrected the record on the acceptance rate disparity (there is none, he reports), and boasts that he paid much less for the same education as Coulter by attending the Ag School.
..I GUESS ARROGANCE IS AN "IVY LEAGUE TRADITION"...
