Texas Attorney General Was For A Health Care Mandate Before He Was Against Them

Abbott

The Plum Line:

One of the state attorney generals who has signed onto a nationally-watched lawsuit to overturn health reform is Republican Greg Abbott of Texas. The lawsuit alleges that the new law is unconstitutional because it imposes a mandate requiring citizens to buy insurance.

Turns out, however, that Abbott strongly supported a law in Texas last year that requires divorced parents to purchase insurance for their kids, even if they prefer to pay for their medical expenses out of pocket.

Abbott's a HYPOCRITE of the first order.
He supported Texas Tort Reform and caps on injuries.
Injuries such as HE suffered in his mid twenties that left him paralyzed and wheelchair bound.
He won $10 MILLION in the courts and at
His was jogging in a ultra wealthy Houston neighborhood that he did not live in and a tree fell on him (your guess is as good as mine) just a few months after he graduated law school. The $10 Million (25 years ago) set him up for life and thus began his political career.

He also cares not for the law's of Texas and makes it up as he needs
He supported Tom DeLay's horrendous gerrymandering and is basically a tool for the Republican Party. Whatever the party wants he supports...until they want it another way. He is relentless in bending the law to support the party of NO.

Please actively support Barbara Ann Radnofsky for Attorney General. She has determined the constitutional amendment banning gay marriage is worded such that it bans all marriage in the state and therefor will need to be repealed. In November we need to clean house starting with Bill White at the top of the ticket.

I was dreading seeing the headlines today expecting to see that Hank Skinner had been executed without further DNA testing. Rick Perry (of course) did not issue a stay however, thank goodness, the Supreme Court did. Rick Perry was ready to execute another possibly innocent man. We have got to do better than this. It is essential to turn out the vote and Democrats will win.

She has my vote. As it stands at the moment, this Independent will be voting a straight Dem ticket. Years ago, I had a Repug friend who was County D.A. and always voted for him.

Abbott is not requiring everyone to buy insurance for their kids just those of divorced parents.

Is this the issue that people want t bring up?

I realize everyone wants to embarass Abbott if they can but is this the issue we want to use.

He claimed no one has a right to make an American citizen purchase anything. Then we find out he voted to force divorcees to purchase health care. If you can not see that as a conflict that makes him a hypocrite my only suggestion is to take off the blinders and pay closer attention.

Barbara Ann Radnofsky is running against this clown. Vote in Nov. for Radnofsky and restore sanity and decency to the Republic of Texas. Sam Rayburn and LBJ must be spinning in their graves at the clowns in charge of this fair state now.
The last time I was this ashamed of my state was 11/22/1963.

It's more and more amazing to me that the republicans across the country are becoming so conditioned to obey the party line. It's like mass hypnosis has occurred. No one in that party dares to think for themselves anymore.
