online dating is stupid! everyone online is not who they say they are, why are people so desperate to meet someone that they would do something like this, I mean, online dating is like going into a bussy highway with a sign of your meserments and hoeping prince charles wont runn you over with his carrieage Really, just look up WITH NO ONE TO PROTECT THEM at youtube, it talks about what i'm talking about

Yeah, that was my thought too... I mean, the article talks about both genders - why doesn't the headline?

I've met 3 husbands via church, friends and work...the only one I divorced, was the church guy.
As a windowed, relatively young, single parent...on-line was the way to go. You can troll profiles during the evening news, all whilst your kids are sleeping. T
That being said, a good gut instinct, coupled with solid safety measures are imperative. As a woman, I always told a friend, where I was meeting someone for coffee or a drink. (Yes, I was "date-crashed" by overly concerned friends on more than one occasion)
Many people do lie, those that do, lie both on-line and in their personal lives. They will lie whether you meet them at a wedding, gym, bar, church or grocery store. Those that lie about their age/weight/height are the easiest ones to weed out early.
The reality is, if someone is looking for a certain body type, then they are being rather short sided, as body types can change somewhat quickly. It's the character that lasts, and that, can take some time to get to truly know.

I waited 40 years (after 2 bad marriages) to find the love of my life. I found him in a different city while on a 7 day free trial on E-harmony. We had 28 months of absolute love before he passed away. But I did or didn't kiss a lot of turkeys before finding him. Online is just a new way of meeting. Women need to use the same common sense rules of dating they always should have been using no matter how they met the individual.

To anyone looking for love, be real and be open, but most of all be honest with yourself so you can be honest with those you meet.

More than half of all Americans cannot even feed themselves, or take care of themsleves properly because they haven't a clue, the knowledge, or ability.
You may be dating one of them tonight?

I wondered how many women were having sex on their first date because I experienced a number of men who treated me like I was weird for not wanting to have sex immediately. Now I understand why…

My wife and I meet online 4 years ago.
We have now been married for 2 years, 3 months.
Like life, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Stop whinning and just figure it out!
Men want sex.
Women want sex, marriage and chilldren, and security, and entertainment, and honesty, and loyalty, and a retirement account, and a home, and dream vacation, and a man who does not use drugs, is not an alcoholic, and a gambler, and a womenizer and cheat and, and, and, and, and ?
Is it any wonder why relationships never work out.
No, it isn't!

I went on line to date in 2002, for I was tired of all the local women that were 2-timing game players, and a bunch of commitment phobes at that.

You can get burned looking for dates on-line or in the bars/clubs, so you have to be careful either way.

I met my current wife on line about 7 years ago, and we.ve been married 5 years now.

Online dating is great if you are wise and have common sense. If you are dumb and naive, it may be another story. Don't give out your home phone number. Talk to someone on the phone only if their profile "feels right." If it doesn't "feel right," it isn't right. If something feels "wrong" on the phone call, don't have another phone call. Ditto for the first meeting. Don't go out with someone on a real date without a trial meeting at a Starbucks. People fall into two categories: those who obey their gut feelings and those who have learned to ignore their gut feelings and go with their logical minds. The ones who don't trust their gut feelings are very likely to get into trouble online, but then they are very likely to get into trouble anyway.
