'The Daily Show' On Vacation: 12 Huge Stories Stewart Missed Out On Mocking

With "The Daily Show" on vacation this week after the historic health care bill was voted in, we feel as if we're being deprived of important, hilarious punditry from Jon Stewart and "The Best F***ing News Team." As it turns out, a major news story breaking while our favorite news parody show was on hiatus has happened quite often. Of course, Stewart delivers when he returns, but he's usually sore that he missed out on delivering the laughs as timely as the networks deliver the news. I thinks the evil-doers stake out his schedule and plan their evil-doings while e is at home with his kids as torture to him.

Remember during the writers strike, he wrote his own material. He is the brains behind that comedy and satire.

As a longtime Jon Stewart fan, I know he takes off every year for Passover. He is a practicing Jew and I admire anyone, no matter what faith they espouse, who take the time to reflect at one point during each year. He knows full well that he will miss important stories while he is away but he always seems to come back better than before he left. The passage of the healthcare bill will be nothing compared to what is ensuring in its wake and Jon will be there telling us all about the crazies when he returns!

And I hate it - The Daily Show has become my method of getting news. He is also a very good interviewer. Hopefully he back next week and I can go back to a good laugh and some insight before I go to bed every night.

Yes, Bill Maher (I know his show isn't a daily) He misses months of stories. Why not use guest hosts? No one is indispensable when it comes to a TV show. It would give his ego a nice break.
