Tom Colicchio vs. Columbia Food Critic

The Columbia Spectator recently published a damning review of Top Chef host Tom Colicchio's restaurant, Colicchio & Sons. And Colicchio is less than pleased.

Columbia student gastronome Jason Bell first caught the attention of New York Magazine's Grub Street blog for calling Colicchio's gnocchi "gummy" and his bacon "vague," among other verbose critiques. The magazine's former restaurant critic Gael Greene tweeted the post, prompting Colicchio to call New York and ask: "Since when did you start reprinting reviews from college newspapers?"

Meanwhile, the Columbia Spectator stands behind its review. For what it's worth, The New York Times gave Colicchio & Sons a three-star rating earlier this month.
