Alexander Clement, 68, and his wife Christine Clement, 64, were arrested on Long Island Sunday for allegedly buying boxes and Jell-O pudding mix and replacing the contents with bags of salt and sand before returning them to the store.
According to 1010WINS,
The packages weren't immediately recognized as having been tampered with and were placed back on the shelves for resale. Customers took them home and discovered the altered contents.
Police arrested the duo after reviewing store surveillance tapes.
