walletpop.com:

By the time Lauren Berger graduated from University of Central Florida in 2006, she had 15 internships already under her belt. So she felt like an expert when it came to finding and getting them. Even when she landed her first job at Creative Artists Agency, she told everyone who would listen that she was "The Intern Queen."

Got a feeling she's going to be a mutliple winner when they hand out the "Monica" awards this year...

Daddy must have some bucks, a lower income kid is lucky to get one internship.

Internships are a scam. Just a way for business to get your labor without paying for it.

That's why I love interns! I remember having a chance to intern when I was an undergrad, at the local Raytheon plant. They were looking for math & physics majors who wanted to earn "valuable experience". I was mildly interested, until I learned it was completely unpaid. What a rip.

We have unpaid interns every summer at my company. My take on the situation is that if they're stupid enough to volunteer for a job with no monetary return, they're probably not assertive enough or bright enough to object to any crap-work I want to give them to do.

"Me and my class of interns would wake up at 2 a.m."

Oh, brother.

"a Hollywood producer took notice and offered to help her launch it as her personal brand."

I'll bet.

At the U. of Central Fla. that's axually purty good talkin'.

"Me and my class......." is incorrect. Me and you agree this ain't right.

You can't gain very valuable experience in this quantity over quality approach to internships (I mean 15 in 4 years? That's quite excessive). However I'm glad that Lauren is capitalizing on her situation by serving as spokeswoman for University of Dreams, a group that takes thousands of dollars from students to guarantee them placement in various internships... This practice unfairly disadvantages lower-income students who can't afford such placement services. Programs like these alter the applicant pool by bringing less qualified individuals to the top, based on their payment rather than merit...She conveniently left that all out when she spoke at my University last semester.

What? Not even one job offer? I think that says all you need to know about corporate America today.

It might tell you more about the applicant. After all, those corporations are presumably paying most of the other people in the building...

The article won't load for me for some reason, but the headline here says to me, "Goes from one failure to another."

CEO material, ladies 'n gents!

You'd think at least she would not advertise the fact that she's been at 15 different jobs in two years or whatever it was. It certainly makes one wonder how it happened.

And if it were common, she wouldn't be the "Queen" so she's basically saying that no one else is experiencing this problem outright.

She is so cute, did she also have an internship in a dating service?
