When eight-year-old Lejla Jamidovic's mother suffered a seizure, Lejla quickly sprung into action. She immediately called 911 for help. When firefighters arrived, Lejla's mother was able to speak, but could only communicate in her native Bosnian. Without her young daughter's aid, Ms. Jamidovic would not have been able to explain her condition to firefighters and receive proper care.
Missouri's Rock Community firefighters recently honored Lejla with a Lifesaver Award at a ceremony at her elementary school, KSDK reports.
