Man Shot Blocks From Police News Conference About Violence

A man was shot Friday afternoon in the South Side Englewood neighborhood, half mile from a press conference where Chicago Police Supt. Jody Weis was discussing the recent rash of violence and how it was being addressed.

A 25-year-old man was shot at West 69th and South Paulina streets, and taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Quention Curtis said.
