Josie Duggar

people.com:

After nearly four months in neonatal intensive care, Duggar baby No. 19, Josie Brooklyn, is finally leaving hospital.

"We're grateful for the prayers of thousands," Jim Bob Duggar tells PEOPLE as he and wife Michelle left Arkansas Children's Hospital on Tuesday with Josie. "We are so happy," adds Michelle. "We are so excited, we are running on adrenaline. I have been getting into the routine of every three hours feeding, diapering and taking her temperature. We are so encouraged that she is doing so well."

I'm so happy & relieved that Baby Josie is going home and hope she continues to do well. But I wish & pray this is a wake-up call to the parents. Even though it's the Duggars' private business, I hope they choose not have any more children, it's such a high risk! I pray that Josie doesn't have any problems later on; which most preemies do encounter, especially she's a micro- preemie. I wish Josie & the Duggars all the best!!!

Great idea, let's reward people with fame and fortune for excessive breeding. The only thing more pathetic than this show is people who watch it.

I hope Jim Bob will give her a rest! Her body can't take any more! Hopefully, she will take care of this one and not pass her down to the older girls to raise like they raise the other little ones.

GLAD TO HEAR THE BABY IS WELL ENOUGH TO GO HOME !

But I truly hope this is their last child born. I love their show, and watch it all the time because they have nice, respectful children. But, Mother Nature is telling them something now !

That is so ffd up, I mean it's not normal to have 19 kids these days. I would adopt if I wanted that many children, if they really love kids they would save someone who has nothing. The only thing I can see here is that these people cannot have sx without having a child, some weird religious thing.

Who provides the family with Health Insurance?

I wish this family well, as so many here do - but seriously, this last pregnancy should be a wake-up call for the wife. They all seem to live in a land of make-believe and are not aware that their lifestyle does affect others - i.e. taxpayers, insurance rates, even impressionable minds who might follow in their footsteps and NOT be able to get a tv show to finance them.

Who knows what life long medical problems are in store for the newborn. These people are religiously delusional and innocents such as the youngest baby are suffering the harm!

Time to rev up the ole clown car uterus again?

I'm very happy that the baby is doing well, but watch, there will be all kinds of interventions etc for developmental delays.

It's absolutely ridiculous these people have a show and for what? Popping babies out! Big deal...my grandmother had 10 down by the river!

There was an old woman who lived in Arkansas, she had so many children her uterus fell out.

Thanks, Andrew Dice Clay

I know a family (with only 6children) in which the oldest girl raised her siblings. She did not get to go to college, because who would feed and dress and home-school the littler ones?

Her younger sisters married before she did and moved out of town, because after the children were old enough to look after themselves, she was sent to live with her ailing grandfather and take care of him. I think all the younger kids were smart to get out of town. The older one is still there, still living (now with a husband) in Grandpa's house and cooking and cleaning for him.

This was a bright young woman who was never given a chance to be a child or to get an education because of raising her parents' kids, and now taking care of her parent's parent.

The boys, of course, were more valued and did not do menial chores or help with the younger ones.

Need I say this family is very religious? I am just glad they stopped at 6.

YES! Stop procreating! This poor little baby suffered due to your selfishness, Mr. and Mrs. Duggar!

I agree. They almost caused this child's death. A human body can just do and take so much. The mother's body needs rest to recharge those batteries. It looks like the batteries were weak with this child's birth.

Any god that wants a woman to breed herself to death is no god I would want to follow. In the Western world, there are very few reasons women die in childbirth, but pre-eclampsia is one of them. Perhaps for the next one Jim Bob should have a couple of body bags made, because it is highly likely that from this point on, Michelle will have pre-eclampsia with her additional pregnancies.
10:08 PM on 04/06/2010
Although I don't agree with their breeding habits, the fact is that a woman can get pre-eclampsia in their first pregnancy. Perhaps now they'll at least try the rhythm method.

You think they're in it for the sex??? Not these holy rollers! It's all about pro-creation, betcha there isn't an ounce of lust or passion in that bedroom...

The sight of my child looking fragile and locked away in a plastic box with tubes sticking out of her would be enough persuasion for me to hang up the uterus and not have any more. I couldn't bear the thought of making another innocent kid go through that in the most critical months of her life.

What does it take for the Duggars to stop this child abuse by having so many none gets the parental attention needed to grow up normal. Jim Bob and Michelle should be ashamed as should TLC by promoting this absurd behavior on a TV show. How much is this costing the taxpayers? Glad the baby is home but who knows the problems ahead for her.

THEY PROBABLY DON'T PAY TAXES.

I have watched the show - I'd hardly call it child abuse - and it's not nearly as intrusive as the Gosselin's show was - and the kid seem better adjusted. Why do you think any of this is costing the taxpayers?
10:00 AM on 04/07/2010
It's not physical abuse, but something's wrong when older kids are left to raise the younger ones.

Sorry, but you past comments certainly don't qualify you to make an "adjustment" evaluation. By the way it's is kidS with a capital S.
