First Posted: 06/07/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 05:05 PM ET

Chris Bosh broke a bone in his face Tuesday night in Cleveland. Less than two minutes into a game against the Cavs, the Raptors All-Star was elbowed by Cleveland forward Antawn Jamison. Blood gushed from Bosh's mouth and nose as medical personnel attended to his injury. The Toronto power forward was hospitalized and received a CAT scan, and the team announced that he suffered a "maxilla and nasal fracture to the right side of his face." Scroll down for video and photos.

Sighs. Why do we need the word "Ouch" in the headline?

Does this website think we're braindead?

Fail, headline writers...again.

Don't say this is not a contact sport.

Looks like Toronto will have another year without any of their sports teams going to the playoffs.

Not to mention Bosh seeking free agency elsewhere.

The Raptors aren't good anyway, so he might as well heal up while his agent tries to get him on a real team. Get better Chris.

Elbow; meet face. Face meet elbow.

What a short lived and painful relationship that was.

Get better soon Bosh!

I think basketball is just one more sport that's gotten more violent, over the years. It's supposed to be a team effort to get the ball down the court and score points, but anymore, people are throwing elbows and otherwise acting like a bunch of hooligans, maybe it's time to break out the rulebook in the interest of all concerned, as well as the future of the sport, itself...

It's not that the sport is more violent, but that the players are bigger and stronger then ever. There's always going to be incidental contact, as in this above mentioned episode, when a bunch of arms and elbows are in the air all trying to grab a single ball. No rules will change this. Did you actually watch this video clip? This was not 'a bunch of hooligans.'

If it was a hockey player, he would not have missed a shift.
