iPhone OS 4.0 Update: iPhone Upgrades We Could See

Are you ready for a "sneak peek" at iPhone OS 4.0?

Just a few months after the unveiling of the iPad, Apple is set to take the wraps off of a new iPhone operating system at an event Thursday, April 8.

CNET, AppleInsider, BoyGeniusReport, and InformationWeek have outlined potential iPhone OS 4.0 updates that we'll see.

Multitasking, long considered one of the greatest downsides to the iPhone, is one of the key iPhone OS 4.0 features expected by tech pundits.

Some sources, like CNET, speculate that iPhone OS 4.0 will include a novel "integrated ad" platform:

Apple got into a tug-of-war with Google over AdMob last year--and lost. Apple settled for Quattro Wireless, another mobile advertising company, which it bought in January. Since the purchase, Apple has been mum about its plans for Quattro within Apple, but the event on Thursday could serve as a coming-out party for a new advertising platform that is integrated with the iPhone software development kit.

What features do you hope the new iPhone operating system will bring?
