I'd buy the dress just for the laughs... or for Halloween. A definate miss for the FLOTUS, but usually she looks lovely. I love the fact that though she could afford to wear super expensive designer clothes all the time, she chooses, more often than not, clothing available to all of us.

I didn't like this dress but I think part of the problem could have been that it didn't televise well. Probably many of have had pictures taken and the outfit we thought looked fine just didn't work in the photo. Anyhow, I'm sure this dress will be revered as it was worn by the future first lady on the night of all nights.

Unfortunately, I think it's terribly strange looking and quite ugly! It was terribly unflattering, and that sweater was just too casual for such a memorable occasion. She's worn some beautiful dresses, but so many don't do anything for her. She wore a full skirted purple floral shirt dress when Obama accepted the nomination, I think it was, also terribly casual for the occasion, but it looked wonderful on her. She defintely needs a stylist who will help her dress properly for the occasion , and also help her choose more flattering styles.

I remember thinking on election night what an odd dress it was. After seeing so many of her other "fashion" choices after a year, it looks pretty good!

Your typical response. Why don't you surprise us and mix it up sometime?

It's too bad you either can't read or have no memory. I've been complimentary when it's warranted. Maybe if she changed it up a little and dressed better more often you'd be happier with my comments. Oh, well...

I absolutely loved the dress, on the runway and on Election night. I simply loved it. I said that that was one dress that I would love to buy if I had the money. The people that were so venomous about something as meaningless as a dress were the same ignant people that were sat up in their log cabins, drowning their sorrows in moonshine on the night that America voted for Obama. It was a good insight for Michelle. No doubt it was food for thought and reminded her to gird her armour against the negative press for the next 8 years.

It will sell, it's a collector's item. I'd like to see what in her closet.

I definitely agree. Michelle has arrived !!! Not everyone will love her fashion choices but for many women especially black women her arrival is a breath of fresh air. Black women have their own idol to fawn over and emulate. I wish Michelle was around when I was growing up. From her hard work, determination, drive, fashion choices, passion, intelligence ...............She is such an inspiration.

It looked better on the runway. I thought it made her look wide. I love her is straight form fitting dresses is a single color.

I know, he re-did it for her, obviously, and the changes were apparently "modesty" decisions. As a more modest dress though, it just doesn't work! That she then covered it with her damned little cashmere cardigan made it far too homely. Oh well, Narciso got the glory, which he deserves.

yep, I loved it. How refreshing to NOT have a buttoned-up, St.-John-knitted FLOTUS!!!

Yes, you are right.
I too find those chic, stylish, well presented Nancy Reagan-types, who always look picture perfect and properly dressed for the occasion, so utterly common.

When the new First Lady-elect walked out in that dress, I shrieked in disappointment. But then the strangest thing happened... I started to love her in it more each time I saw it. Anyone else feel that way, too?

It was such a thrilling night, they could have all walked out in burlap sacks and I don't think I'd have really noticed or cared.

Yes, me too. I thought, oh no! Picture the dress in a dark blue where its red and it wouldn't have looked quite so bad. At least people wouldn't have thought black widow!
