New Tea Party Convention MORE EXPENSIVE Than The Last

Tea Party Convention

Tea Party Nation recently announced its decision to host a second Tea Party Convention, which will be more expensive than the last one.

Many Tea Party organizers viewed February's National Tea Party Convention as a farce, an usurpation of the Tea Party movement and an affront to its grass-roots nature.
Standing in stark contrast to the fiscal conservatism central to the Tea Party movement, it was attacked for costs that ran far beyond the budget of the average activist. Held at the ritzy Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, the convention was criticized for its location, but more so for its cost -- $349 for a convention ticket, $549 if you also wanted to hear Sarah Palin speak. Not to mention the travel, accommodations and food costs. The event invoked further wrath when it was revealed that the convention was held as a for-profit by the Tea Party Nation.

Tea Party Nation's announcement of a new convention, one even more expensive than the one in February, seems to demonstrate that these complaints have fallen on deaf ears.

Tea Party Nation is now holding another event, "The National Tea Party Unity Convention." The cost this time around? $399. Held in Las Vegas, the convention is set to take place July 15-17 at the Palazzo Resort, a luxurious hotel-casino nestled between the Wynn and the Venetian on the famous Vegas Strip. Said to be the second-largest building in the western hemisphere, the Palazzo features a 20,000-square-foot Lamborghini showroom, decorated with Italian marble, as well as a 85,000-square-foot Barney's of New York.

Unless you live in Nevada, registering for the convention requires "confirmed three night hotel accommodations at the Palazzo." At the moment, a three-night stay at the Pallazo during the convention costs a minimum of $443. This means that, travel and food expenses aside, non-Nevadans must pay $843 just to register. Also, according to the convention website, canceling your reservations at Palazzo will result in "forfeiture of entire convention registrations fees." In other words, you can't even think about trying to stay anywhere else.

Please remove your hat while you eat. On the other hand, if you maxed out your credit cards again to get there, I suppose it's o.k. to not use manners.

The Tea Party convention which will be held in Las Vegas where gambling and prostituion are widespread shows the true spirit of their old-fashioned conservative family values. This convention can only be attended by people who can afford to throw away almost $900 for three nights of so-called activism and this doesn't not include airfare. Americans are losing jobs, homes, and their medical insurance, the tea partiers will be drinking, eating, and enjoying themselves and complaining about the state of our country yet doing nothing about it. Some idiotic sober or drunk tea partier will throw a few bucks to some handicapped person and laugh about it and then apologize for their behavior. My advise is to stay home and look around your community and see what you can do for your neighbors in dire straits. Donate your money for a good cause and teach the next generation (your own children and grandchildren) about compassion and caring and kindness.

Yep, the tea party wants their country back.......you know the country where all the people in it can afford to go to las vegas and pay over 300.00 a night for hotel rooms and pay huge fees to hear the likes of Sarah Palin and put millions of dollars into slot machines and black jack games. To get back their country and the people in it than can afford to pay for expensive air fares to Vegas and eat in fine restaurants and take time off for vacations. these tea baggers who don't want all americans to have the benfits of good health care insurance but at the same time these same tea baggers are taking medicare, social security and even unemployment insurance from this country they love to hate. What a bunch of ignorant, phony, dumbed down, out of touch with the real world whacko's. These people don't even know what this country is about, they are just enjoying that the fact that being "ignorant", "selfish" and "racist" is getting them so much Media attention these days. Come on, Independents and Dems, run don't walk to the polls and vote republicans irrelevant in 2010 unless you want the world to see the U.S. is being overthrown by a bunch of silly, hateful people wearing tea bags all over their heads. Yikes.........and duhhhhhhhhhhhh

How nice. Will the festivities take place before or after their

war on the US and it's citizens?

Good, it is easier to keep track of these terrorists and their
sympathizers if they are all in one place.

Hate is like crack.
12:37 PM on 04/09/2010
Yes it is. Hate is taught from generation to generation as a tool to coverup failure for never achieving anything in life, and that's the bottom of the scale. At the top of the hate scale are the people who do not want to lose what they have gained so they teach hate of those who might (in their mind) threaten them. It is all about fear.

Hear ye, all you patriots. Your principles require that you stand up to the creeping menace that is destroying our freedom.

Put your money where your mouth is and decline your Social Security check; decline Medicare and decline your prescription drug benefits. Freedom and the American way of life demand no less.

I know you put some money in Social security at work. It doesn't take long to use this money up
if you live long enough. When your few bucks run out, refuse to take any more. After all
you tea baggers don't want socialist welfare, do you?

Most of them are retired, collecting SS or Unemployed, collecting checks,

but they justify it by saying that the will take the gov't for everything they can.

We all know that this is not about being fiscally conservative, because I am.

This is about spreading hatred and intolerance.

We need to show the tea partiers that we have a common enemy, and that they've been brainwashed.

They aren't terrorists, they're just misguided by the powerful corporate Right. We need to work with them, show them the err in their ways, and most importantly, not continue to be divided.

First. It was boring. You are boring.

Second. It was a personal solicitation.

Third. It is bull. The Obama Administration has endeavored to implement those ideals he supported in the campaign. That in the short time he's been prez he hasn't done everything just as described in the campaign doesn't say a thing. He's accomplished a great deal since taking office as head of a dangerously destabilized bankrupt America. Plus, once in office, it is always extremely difficult for a president to enact all his electorial ideals - even in 8 years. Even when they have the House and Senate, too.

All the while, he's been under attack, worse than that directed at Clinton, from the right. It was and is a "vast rightwing conspiracy."

So, in your little self-serving video your disingenousness is very apparent. You are a Glenn Beck or limbaugh, just you claim to be liberal.

Fourth. You are flagged for No. 2, above.

First. You need to work on your attention span issues, and learn to think more critically

Second. I'm not Lawrence Lessig, and I'm passing along his message from Campaign for Liberty, so that's not a personal solicitation, get a clue.

Third. You have no idea what you're talking about. Just keep toting your Obama bumper sticker and using campaign jingles, thinking that change is on it's way while you sit on your couch and do nothing.

Fourth. I think you're on the wrong site, this one is for people who actually care about change. Go to foxnews.com and complain with the rest of the people who prefer for politics to be like professional wrestling.

Fifth. My guess is you're from the Me Generation. Don't hate on people who actually are working to break the mold of people that do nothing in this country but complain.

Watch Rush, someday soon, say that the Dems were behind a plot for the Tea Party conventions getting more and more expensive just to drain any extra campaign cash away from the elections in November that these people might donate to. They'll be too broke, and not be able to support the Tea Party candidate. It might not be the only excuse why the Tea Party wasn't as successful as predicted this November, but some AM talker will eventually try to put the blame of these expensive conventions on the Dems.

Las Vegas, you might want to reconsider hosting this Klandig. How much money do you think these doublewide renters can afford to spend?
