Media vs. Money: What Is The Biggest Problem In Politics?

Andy Barr at Politico makes note of a Rasmussen poll that asked whether "media bias" or "the money that flows into campaigns" is a "bigger problem in politics today." I hope you can handle the news, everyone -- but, as it turns out, people are divided on this issue!

Fifty-five percent of the 1,000 likely voters polled identified media bias as a larger problem than "big campaign contributions." Thirty-two percent blamed money over the media, while 13 percent were not sure.

In other shocking news, more self-identified Republicans thought that media bias was the largest problem, while Democrats said the opposite, almost as if they had a generic difference of opinion, or something. It was left to Alex Balk to make the obvious point, about this stupid poll: "No breakdown on how many of those 55% think the problem is the media's bias against doing extensive reporting on how those gigantic campaign contributions affect the political process, but I'm sure it's a bunch, right?"

Meanwhile, I have to wonder if the results might have been different if Rasmussen had done the smart thing and included the choice: "Bloody hell, why don't you come back and ask me that when, if ever, I get a job again?"
