MSNBC President Phil Griffin Rips David Shuster: 'Not Moral, Ethical, Or Professional'

MSNBC President Phil Griffin ripped suspended anchor David Shuster in an email to an angry fan.

"Sorry, but this is a business and I need team players," Griffin said in an e-mail (via Mediaite). "[Shuster] was not moral, ethical or professional and that is not fair to the 500 people who work at [MSNBC]."

Griffin reportedly "ripped Shuster a new one" when the news broke that he had filmed a pilot for CNN, a move that would ultimately lead to Griffin suspending him from the network indefinitely.

I love David Shuster. He's well informed, truthful, intelligent, witty, and he's a snappy dresser. More important - he's on my side! MSNBC is the place he ought to be, but if need be, I will watch him on CNN. My advice is to dump Phil Griffin and give us David Shuster. The best news program and team ever....David Shuster & Tamrin Hall! Wake up MSNBC, DON'T LOSE ONE OF THE BEST EMPLOYEES YOU HAVE EVER HAD!!

Why, MSNBC wasn't that from 2009. This 2010 and why should dave pllay second bana to the old guy who's always on campuses and keith who use to be great but is now a bad joke. Can you believe he's doing two spontaneous segments eah night. He peekde whn Ben Affleck imitated him on SNL. Back to David Shuter he should be running NBC.

I love David. I want him to come back. He is smart, funny and to the point. Furthermore, he listens to those who come on and questions them to with facts. We need professionals like that in the news.

Too bad David Shuster isn't on MSNBC at the moment. Bring him back. CNN sucks. He is brave and interesting. Just a bunch of repetative BLAH at the moment. DULLSVILLE. At least he calls people on their crap. There are others on that channel that need a rethink.

i agree with desmond. BRING SHUSTER BACK. in this day and age he shouldn't be punished for doing something outside the msnbc box. he's too honest to not be on msnbc. msnbc doesn't even mention his name or why he's been "banished". this really sucks.

Please bring back David Shuster.....daily programming is not the same without him. One day I tuned in to see Elliot Spitzer.....that, I could not take and will not take.

David Schuster is very good at what he does. If fired from MSNBC , and goes over to CNN , will be a prize for CNN . MSNBC had better rethink get rid of Schuster .

David Shuster is one of the best reporters on MSNBC . He atleast takes no prisoners and reports the news as it is not as republicans want him too . The ones on MSNBC that need to go are , Joe Scarbrough , Chris Matnews {all over the place with his reporting but is very smart when it comes to politics . Heleans a little too far to the right and is stuck on stupid when it comes to reporting Sarah Palin all the time . Even when she sneazes} , Contessa Brewer is far right, and can't stand Andrea Mitchell. The best on MSNBC are , Keith Olberman , Rachael Maddow ,Ed Schultz . The deal strickly in the facts , only.

i agree with dotbed1. i get really sick of hearing chris matthews drool over sara palin. it's soooo obvious. shuster is one of the best reporters on msnbc and i agree he takes no prisoners and reports the news truthfully. i agree that the best on msnbc are olbermann, ed schultz and rachael maddow. also, dylan madigan is pretty good too.
