Before 'SNL' began its barrage of Tina Fey goodness, it opened with a sketch of Obama ensuring that, despite what Fox News says, the census is "not some Socialist plot to spy on the American people."
To make the public feel more at ease, Obama (Fred Armisen) detailed the census's questions, which increased in ridiculousness as it went along. But as he explained, there's a perfectly good explanation for the inquiries about your sexual habits: it helps the government plan highways and make sure each state is fairly represented in Congress.
