John King Ratings: 'John King USA' Struggles To Catch On

If CNN thought "John King, USA" would help solve their ratings problems, they'll have to think again.

Mediaite reported earlier this week that the show, which replaced "Lou Dobbs Tonight" at 7PM, was off to a "slow start."

Over his first three weeks, the site reported, King was down 37% in total viewers and 42% in the A25-54 demographic compared to Dobbs' ratings the same three weeks the year before.

Now TVNewser notes that the program just notched a new low: on Wednesday, it averaged just 54,000 viewers the A25-54 demographic, CNN's worst showing in the demo in the 7PM timeslot since December 2004.

Of course, new shows can take time to catch on; King noted as much in a conversation with Mediaite last month:

I don't care at all about how [the ratings] look after three days, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. If you come back to me after three weeks, and especially three months, then we can have a more serious conversation about that. And even more importantly, six months and nine months.
