Katherine Heigl Aspca

Katherine Heigl was in New York Thursday night to be honored by the ASPCA and was talking about new daughter Naleigh, whom she and husband Josh adopted from Korea in September.

Heigl recently left 'Grey's Anatomy' to focus on motherhood, and told ET that daughter Naleigh is blooming.

"Life is great, it's really family oriented right now which feels fantastic, and feels as it should be. She's still so new, Naleigh's still so new in our lives... They change every month so monumentally that every month she's a new kid. She just started walking this weekend, she started talking more last month, and if I were missing that right now, I would just be devastated."

Heigl, along with her mother, founded Heigl's Hounds of Hope to honor her brother Jason and help save dogs from kill shelters. Jason died when he was 15 and loved animals.

Here's Heigl Thursday night, who attended without her hubby.

Recently, my parents' dog passed away. They think that after our cat dies, we won't have pets for a while. We love animals, but we aren't home much, and it's getting hard to take care of pets.

Either way, it's good that Katherine Heigl is doing what she's doing. Taking time off from acting to focus on raising a child should be a requirement for all actors and actresses.

Kudos to Katherine for not taking all the money one gets from acting and living a life
of drug, party and rock and roll. She is a mature woman who has her priorities set
straight........my hat is off to her and her husband on seeing the important things in
life and making the right decision to be home to raise their new daughter........

She's hot...great.

She also is one of the most annoying, unlikable, stuck-up, ungrateful/ungracious shrews I've ever seen. You can only imagine what a high-maintenance wife/girlfriend she'd be.

At a certain point, one's dislike for an actor/actress becomes so great that you can no longer put it aside long enough to enjoy their work.

She's so far past that line, I had trouble clicking on this story to make this post.

I don't know who I dislike more, her or Kristen Stewart.

SO, you know her personally? Your points are so specific, you must know here personally and really well, right?

She is beautiful but I really think she should go back to being a blond.

I'm thinking she should just fade into obscurity where she belongs.

She has it all and most of the posters here can't stand it. I for one admire her.

Isn't going to a red carpet event with a pet in hand so 2007?
01:14 AM on 04/18/2010
It's an ASPCA event. It's appropriate there.

Who cares? Katherine Heigl is a D-list "actress" who acts on one mode: mopey. Seriously, can any actress be more of a sad sack in all of her "roles?" She looks like a generic suburban brat with zero charisma. Oh, and she has a serious deficit when it comes to actual acting. To TV land with you, Katherine Heigl! No more feature film roles, please.
02:31 PM on 04/16/2010
Yeah, D-listers usually are in hit network shows, win emmys and cross over to film.

Are blog comments ever anything more than hate fests?

In this case, it would appear that's all they are. What do you think that's all about?

Perhaps it's blindness induced by my love for this woman, but I'd poke anybody in the nose who said a mean thing about Katherine Heigl. She is amazing.

Negative comments about a woman who is actually doing something to help shelter animals find homes? SHAME ON YOU! What are you doing to improve the world?
09:23 PM on 04/16/2010
Beautifully said, Jennifer. Katherine Heigl is a hero in my book. I would love to know how many hours the people who criticize her are volunteering to help make the world a kinder and better place.

Another animal rights' quack making outrageously foolish statements...she is no hero...you might want to ease up on those doctor prescribed meds sweetie!

I second that. And I adore her!

I am going to be teaching your children. Does that count for trying to improve the world?
