Mark Cuban: 'I Hate The Spurs'

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has never shied away from the spotlight. Whether he is in the news because he's interested in buying a baseball team, or because he is being slammed through a table, the outspoken owner frequently finds himself at the center of attention.

Cuban's Mavericks are currently facing their arch-rivals, the San Antonio Spurs, in the NBA playoffs, and Dallas holds a 1-0 series lead. Yesterday, Cuban added more fuel to the fire.

ESPN.com reports that Cuban says he "hates" his in-state rivals. "No, I mean I hate the Spurs," the Mavericks owner said. "I have a hard time being civil to [Spurs owner] Peter Holt at the board of governors meetings and he has a hard time being civil to me even though we both like each other. It's what it represents."

The teams will have a chance to further the bitter feelings on the court. The Mavs and Spurs face off at 9:30 PM ET.

Mark hates winners! I'm from Dallas and the Mavericks are my team but I hate the fact that Mark Cuban doesn't know how to run a franchise. Every year it's always a dumb trade and it never works out for us, you fire Avery traded Drew Gooden, Josh Howard, and Chris Humphries for what? We'll never win a ring in Dallas as long as we have a bunch of softies looking to shoot jumpshots vs driving to hole taking contact and drawing fouls. Last night's game just reminded me just how digusted I am with Dallas. Please get D Wade or Lebron here, but I know that would never happen.

Mark Cuban is such a freakin idiot anyway!!! As a very big SPURS fan, I hate him. He popped off at the wrong freakin time and now the SPURS are even more determined to bring the MAVS down and I hope they do it in the next 3 games!!

Cuban should have shut-up...Never give your adversary additional psychological fuel to get pumped up. Now the Spurs are fired-up and ready to sink their spurs in the Mavericks. I had them picked to win going in, but now they're going to lose this series.

the owner is supposed to keep his mouth shut and let his team doing his talking for him. it's easy to hate a team that has dominated you for as long as the spurs have feasted on the soft mavs, but you don't go talking about it.

i'm sure bill davidson never went crying to the media about how much he hated the celtics, whether he hated them or not.
