Dick Cheney: Telling Patrick Leahy 'F--k Yourself' Was 'Sort Of The Best Thing I Ever Did'

Dick Cheney Patrick Leahy F Yourself
Dick Cheney said that telling Patrick Lehey "F--k yourself" was "sort of the best thing I ever did."

While the current vice president is showing contrition over dropping an F-bomb, the last one seems proud of his own famous off-color moment.

On the Senate floor for a photo session in 2004, Dick Cheney had a run-in with Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.). After the two argued over Cheney's ties to Halliburton and President Bush's judicial nominees, the then-vice president told the senator "f--k yourself."

Cheney, who has never regretted the incident, appeared on Thursday's "Dennis Miller Show" and took a compliment about it from the host.

"I love that move," Miller said while thanking Cheney for going after Leahy. "One of my favorite stories -- muttering that."

Cheney responded that a lot of people liked the comment. "That's sort of the best thing I ever did."

Think Progress pulled the clip.

I want to remember my fallen friends on this Memorial Day weekend. And I want to remember my Dad who was s*hot up WWII (Battle of the Bulge) and was in the first wave into Normandy on June 6th '44. In the time I knew him before he died in '77, if he ever talked about his experiences I never heard it. I learned most about his exploits from his older sister long after he died.

Obscene that Liz would pick a poignant weekend to grandstand and, yet again, deflect attention from her despicable father....one of the greatest war-skirting war mongers in American history....the literal poster child for "chicken hawkery". To the well-grounded American, of which we are still, thankfully, the majority the Liz Cheney's of the world are regarded as mere mind pollution.

In the unlikely event that Cheney is put on trial for his crimes, wherein he would no doubt be convicted, he may realize that he f__cked himself. (Not to mention his country).

This is hilarious! Dick's actually being honest! Since he's never done anything worthwhile for anyone but himself and his filthy rich cronies he does sum things up nicely when he says that insulting a sitting US senator was the "best thing" he ever did.
Who is Dennis Miller?

How utterly pathetic Dick Cheney has become at a time when the emergence of a elder statesman would have been so inspiring that he could have given advise to our President and nation.

This utterly contemptible person who was a Former Vice President of the United States of America comes forth complementing himself for the vulgar expression direct to a sitting United Senator on the hollowed floor of the senate chamber.

and how sad a commentary on the last 8 years of our nation's life.
our de-facto president admits that the best thing he did while in office was to insult a congressman.
what a loss.
8 years we can never recover.
perhaps our pride we might, but it will take some work.

He insulted a distinguished Senator from Vermont and now he says he admires what he said.

State of Denial by Bob Woodward is a good read.

Let's put his comment in perspective:

Cheney--the defacto president of the United States during eight of the most contentious and challenging years in this nation's history--says that his best shot while in office was telling someone to go f*** themselves.

That sums up pubbie leadership better than anything Ive ever seen.

It's so sad to see what has become of Dennis Miller. Clever, sardonic and quickwitted has turned into mean and hateful RW nasty. Didn't he get freaked out by 9/11 and lose his way? I seem to remember him speaking after the 9/11 attacks about the need for vengeance and the necessity of wiping out the Muslims and such nonsense. Do you suppose he ever looks in the mirror and wonders where he went?

Dick best thing is still left to be done. Can't wait for it nor shed tears.

Cheney thinks that's the "best" thing he ever did.

As ironic as that may be...

...it probably was...

...for an "quail huntin" ex-vice president with little potlical collateral and a pathetic legacy.

Cheney is a war criminal.
