Melissa Etheridge Claims Split Mutual, Tammy Hints Differently

Melissa Etheridge tells Oprah that her breakup with wife Tammy was mutual, but judging by entries on Tammy's blog denying "drifting" and mentioning being "blindsided," Melissa may have instigated the split.

Melissa, 48, tells Oprah on Friday's episode that the separation was "as mutual as those things can be." She also calls the breakup "sad."

The singer calls her actress ex is "a wonderful woman and an incredible mother" and said "she'll always be in my life."

BUT, over on Tammy's blog, things seem a little different.

Tammy, 35 and the birth mother of the couple's twins, writes occasionally under the name Hollywood Farm Girl, and in a Friday entry (the same day as the Oprah episode) she wrote:

this will be the only place
where you will get the truth
Hollywood Farm Girl
is the only one
who gets
it right
who won't spin
won't lie
won't act like there was
drifting
and that's all.

So no drifting.

Tammy has only written several entries in 2010, and one February entry (removed but preserved in google cache), speaks of being blindsided.

I think this is true. For whatever reason Melissa left Tammy. I have to say I was shocked at this split. They seemed very much in love and Melissa has written several love songs for Tammy.

Tammy has removed most of the blogs now on their split...but here is no doubt she is devastated.

Melissa was just on Oprah and when Oprah asked if the split was mutual...Melissa should have taken ownership and said no, that it was her fault and not Tammy's. But she didn't, she implied it was mostly mutual. If you read Tammy's blog you know that is bull.

Disappointing from someone who always says to "speak true".

after reading melissa's autobiography i was really struck by her narcissism...
a real turn-off and given that, it is sad to say it doesn't come as surprise...
both in terms of her possible cheating and spinning her image...

Why do people blab their personal shlt on twitter and facebook, etc??

So Melissa's ex is hurt and feels blindsided. Maybe it's because she refused to open her eyes and see what was going on in their relationship. Maybe she was the one taking things for granted and making Melissa feel neglected. Maybe Not. Who cares!

I think this is awesome. It's nice to see that gay couples can suffer the pain of divorce, just like straight couples. I hope Tammy takes Melissa for every penny she has. Melissa was abusive and cheated on Tammy based on things I've heard from a reliable source.

WTF.

A) There's nothing at all "nice" about "the pain of divorce" regardless who's going through it.

B) Most states have community property laws which limit settlements to one half eavh. Beyond that, I would assume Ms Ethridge's got a pre-nuptual agreement delineating any potential future settlement.

C) "...things I've heard..." Well now, that settles that, doesn't it?

I kind of agree with him (??) without the harshness. I have always said that gay people should be allowed to marry and be as miserable as the rest of us...so having a divorce and lawyers and splitting of the income is just the natural progression.

None of these things are ever mutual. One is always more hurt than the other. Sounds like Melissa has a case of "wonderwhosbetteroutthere"-itis. Just my opinion, of course.

I think Tammy is very gifted in the way she is able to find the right words to express her pain
and sorrow over her break up with Melissa E. It's irritating to read negative posts about
what a terrible poet Tammy is. She is revealing the way she honestly feels. I didn't know
that there is a right or wrong way a person can choose to express his or herself while
in obvious pain. Not everyone is capable of finding the right words known in the English
language to express how they feel, so please don't kick a dog when it is down people.
If you don't have anything nice to say, maybe you shouldn't post anything.

Sorry it did not work, Melissa.

Things are not like they used to be. The old days of fidelity and no drama are long gone, especially for those in the limelight.

IF it has been a case of "me" and "I," instead of "us" and "ours," then it was doomed from the get-go.

I was somewhat surprised last year at the support I got from my partner during my cancer treatment, but, I will never forget the help and support. It did seem strange receiving, instead of giving, in the relationship. LOL
I guess that is why we are still together.
