Gosselin Children Cleared To Appear On Television

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Kate's eight are free to appear on their mom's upcoming reality show.

A spokesman for the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry says producers have obtained child-labor permits for Kate Gosselin's twins and sextuplets to appear with their mother on a series of TLC specials, "Kate Plus 8."

Troy Thompson said Monday that the permits are good for six months, then must be renewed.

Pennsylvania regulators concluded last month that permits should have been obtained for Gosselin's old show, "Jon & Kate Plus 8." The series ended last year when Kate split with her husband, Jon.

No legal action was taken, but the producers agreed to submit paperwork for any future taping.

Board Chair of the Dauphin County Workforce Investment board... they had no contact for their child labor division.. I asked him to forward my letter to the division that gave out the permit for Kate Gosseline to LEGALLY ABUSE her children for cash.

I laugh at all the comments about how these kids must work. Have you watched the show? They get to go to interesting, educational, fun places and do what kids their ages do, have fun. At home they are showed doing whatever they would normally be doing. There are no rehearsed scenes, no lines to learn. Where is the work? Sign me up!

There are hot studio lights INSTALLED in their home, there was a camera on the wall recording activity in the kids bedroom, the kids were told it was Christmas day when it was not so the camera could record a genuine reaction (afterward they were told it was not Christmas).

People who have worked for them, camera/sound people said the fighting in the house got so bad that they left b/c they were uncomfortable.

The 6 little kids are five ( 6 y/o this May) and they go to preschool (for the 2nd time) for only 3days a week so filming can go easier. They should be going to 1st grade next yr, but will go to Kindergarten.

I could write a paper on this... & these kids aren't relaxing in front of the camera. They are forced to perform, told to repeat "cute things" the camera misses and miss they alot of school being shuffled all over the country.

How about before doing an interview, when Kate refuses to give her daughter water, after drinking it herself! She tells her " It's time for the interview"!! She puts the $$$$ before her kids! Period.
I loved the show in the beginning, when they were home, living the life of a family. Then you watched Kate "change"..in every way possible! She was more concerned about herself, her clothes, her looks ...than she was about her own children. "I, I, I, Me, Me, Me, and don't forget about ME!!!" I started to not like her very much! Then I lost interest, before the break up! SHE disgusted me as a woman, but especially as a mother! The tanning, the teeth, the tummy tuck, the make up, the clothes!
Her son was crying and bleeding and she pushed him away, b/c she didn't want blood on her clothes, and she is a nurse! What kind of mother does that?
Her children looked absolutely miserable when I stopped watching the show. They look even worse now! John was a jerk for running around...but I truly wonder what goes on now, she was verbally and emotionally abusive!! They are being raised by nannies, not her. She is too busy promoting herself!

So...we don't learn. Lindsay Lohan was sent to work at 3 years old by her parents - by 10 she was working full time. She worked for almost 20 years straight supporting her family...and look at how well that turned out.

Lilo's parents are creeps. And so are the Gosselins. Support you kids. Not the other way around.

Kate spanked the kids all the time for little things. When they didn’t listen to her the first time, she snapped out and tanned their behinds. Jon would tell her to stop, but that would lead to them fighting in front of the kids, and Jon didn’t want that so he let her go. The source said Kate would get angry when the kids wouldn’t pick up their toys, and she never gave them a second chance. She once kicked a Lego building the boys made into a thousand pieces because they didn’t put it away the first time she ordered them. Then Kate made the tots clean up the mess she made, all the time yelling at them to put their damned toys away.

The kids were afraid of mommy. All she had to do was look at them with that expression, and they grew petrified because they knew what she’d do to them -- completely different from the loving parent you saw on TLC. Kate always screamed at them and that’s one of the reasons Jon said they split up. Jon painted himself as the fun parent and Kate as the meanie. Jon let the kids make a mess while Kate demanded everything stay neat and tidy. She would get mad at them just for taking out their toys to play......

my wife and i both work full time, we live comfortably and make good money and I have trouble affording my two kids. Do you guys really believe she could work as a nurse pay 500-800 a week in daycare and survive? If you answered yes, then perhaps you aren't as smart as you talk. These kids get to go places, do and have things. For it they live part time in front of a camera. So what. Better then living at a daycare being exsposed to who knows what and never seeing your mom!!!

Regardless of whether it is full-time or part time, children should not be required to WORK. As we have observed, child stars have a difficult time adjusting to adult life and oftentime suffer tremendously. It was simply selfish of Kate/Jon to initiate fertilty treatments that could potentially result in a multiple birth of children they are unable to afford, at a time when they already had two children. How irresponsible of both of them.

Errr, how about some sensible family planning? If Kate and Jon couldn't afford to have more than two lovely twin girls, then they shouldn't have gone for another round of expensive fertility drugs then make their eight minor children work to support them. By the way, there are many wonderful daycare situations out there. Further, the kids never see their mom now, and are being raised by nannies.

At least no one can accuse Kate of not being a survivor. She certainly knows how to use her image and her past success to create new interest. As to whether she exploits her children or not...... I think the children will be the ones deciding when they grow old enough to form an educated opinion.

I'll be boycotting TLC, part of Discovery Channel, which also carries the insipid Sarah Palin in Alaska show.

Exactly - I've been boycotting TLC for close to a year now and guess what - don't miss it! I thought it would be harder than it was. My list of shows I used to watch but no more: The Today Show, The View, Joy Behar Show, anything with Kathy Griffin, and now Regis & Kelly. I had already long stopped watching Dr. Phil. I also skipped the first episodes of DWTS this season - and guess what - didn't miss it much!

5-years-old and working at least (((one))) job, possibly two. All because QFI - Queen Freebie Irene (Kate's middle name) REFUSES to ever, ever, ever *gaps!* (((downgrade))) her life and give up the spotlight (fame) and the money and get a 9-to-5 job.

In America, families are downsizing everyday. A regional district manager for a electronics office equipment corporation finds his/her company has consolidated and they're now out of a job. A new job as a plant manager at lesser salary. So they sell the $650,000 house and buy a smaller $300,000 house.

Why does Katie Irene get a free pass to (((continue))) CHILD EXPLOITATION so she doesn't have downgrade. It's sick!!!
