June Kenton, Queen Elizabeth II's Bra Maker, Retires

June Kenton, Queen Elizabeth II's bra maker, is retiring from her post at Rigby & Peller lingerie boutique, the Daily Mail reports.

Kenton has been fitting the queen since 1960 and she revealed that she was terrified before her first royal visit:

"I was so nervous I couldn't sleep or think straight. Can you imagine what it was like? Most people first meet the Queen when she's wearing an evening dress, but not me," Kenton said. She's also fitted Lady Gaga, Gwyneth Paltrow, Margaret Thatcher and Sophie Dahl.

Over time, Kenton has certainly witnessed the evolution of bra sizing, noting, "Even when my husband Harold and I first started selling lingerie in our own shop in the Seventies, sizes only went up to a D. Now, sizes go all the way from A to J."
