Jason Alexander Bicyclist

LOS ANGELES — Police say "Seinfeld" actor Jason Alexander won't be cited after striking a 14-year-old bicyclist while driving in Los Angeles.

The boy suffered minor injuries.

Los Angeles police spokeswoman Norma Eisenman says Alexander hit the bicyclist at about 7:15 a.m. Tuesday in the Mid-City area.

Eisenman says the boy was in stable condition when he was taken to a hospital for examination. She had no additional details about the accident but said Alexander wasn't cited.

Alexander played neurotic neighbor George Costanza on "Seinfeld."

His publicist, Ron Hofmann, says Alexander acted responsibly by waiting for police and paramedics to arrive. He says Alexander is grateful that the boy wasn't seriously hurt.

He must have been distracted by the fire engulfing Newman's postal truck.

I think huffington post should have less about celebrities and more about the real hard news of LA. Like the out of control rat and cockroach infestation that's completely overwhelmed much of the city. Maybe more about the gang violence that's made life impossible for so many of the LA's poor. If huffington post doesn't cover this, who will?

I agree. I'd like to see Huff report on how the DA and City Attorney support organized crime profits by closing down the legitimate medical marijuana dispensaries. Although L.A.'s politics are alleged non-partisan, DA Cooley reportedly a GOP. How's that for hypocrisy -- he closes successful businesses operating under the law as interpreted by the state's Atty General and thereby supports the street gangs. The more cash the street gangs have, the more they can attract our kids into the gangs. The more money the gangs have, the more they want to make so they go out and push the product. Owners of the marijuana dispensaries weren't running over the the schools and pushing reefers on our kids.

It's hard living in LA when law enforcement and the drug gangs cooperate so closely.

After the accident, the little musical cue from Seinfeld played.

The kid is lucky that Elaine Bennis did hit him or she would have gotten out of her car and pushed the kid over as he tried to struggle to his feet

This just goes to show you that celebrities think they can do whatever they want without consequences. If I was a celebrity, I would be running over anyone who rides a bike.

I understand he called the hospital to check on the boy the doctors informed him the kid was better and that he had a rosy glow and his skin had a pinkish hue.

I have to say that I'm surprised that this doesn't happen a lot more often. There is so much traffic in LA, and very little space separating cars from bikes even where there are designated bike lanes.

Who says?

Bicycles were here first. We're the OG bikers.

The guy who stuck a motor in one is just lazy. And usually fat.
