Joe Biden Admits 'I've Been Sleeping With A Teacher For A Long Time'

Obama Mine Explosion

For most people, talk of sex partners isn't a natural launching pad for a speech on education.

Vice President Joe Biden isn't most people.

He proved it again at a National Teacher of the Year reception at the Naval Observatory on Monday night.

"I've been sleeping with a teacher for a long time," Biden said, according to the pool report, provided by Politico. "But it's always been the same teacher."

Biden's wife, Jill, began teaching shortly after graduating from the University of Delaware in 1975 and is currently a professor at Northern Virginia Community College.

The Vice President also spoke about the Administration's current education initiatives -- such as the "Race to the Top" grant competition -- and their larger multi-billion dollar commitment to "create momentum for education in America."

"We've never made this kind of investment. And we've got to do this right," Biden said. "We've got to convince the American public that this is worth it."

Jill Biden also spoke Monday -- not about sleeping with the Vice President -- but rather about her choice to continue teaching.

"Michelle told me, 'You have to do it.' You have to do what you love," Jill Biden said, referring to First Lady Michelle Obama.

Biden has had some real knockers in the past when he has pubically spoke, but it is nice not have someone who isn't so serious all the time, and harsh like Dick Cheney. What a nice relief, eh?

if your a feminist, please respect another woman's perspective rather than calling her a name. Its counter productive

I'm pretty sure feminism isn't supposed to require that you respect stupid people just because they happen to be women.

The biggest gaffe of Joe Biden of all:

Involved with the Church Committee that led to dismantling American intelligence after the Viet Nam war:

"... Joseph Biden. The Delaware Democrat was one of seventeen Senators who voted in 1974 to ban all covert operations, and proudly noted during his 1988 campaign for president that he had threatened to “go public” with covert action plans ..."

Later a senator demanding an explanation for why American intelligence failed to detect and stop the 9-11 attack.

I like Biden, and I don't begrudge him his near-fatal foot-in-mouth disease.

Much as I might like to believe otherwise, there is so much blame to spread around about 9/11 that (in my view anyway) it becomes an exercise in troweling manure very, very finely over absolutely everything.

There's an interesting discussion to be had on this point, I think.

His realness and his wisdom is why he was my very first choice for President. Lots of people overlooked him early on so what we have in an inexperienced senator, but good speaker who wants to be liked and gives in too much. I have a feeling Biden would have made LBJ proud because he knew how to maneuver withing the confines of the senate yet his likability might have swayed people more than the President's standoffish ways have put off half the public. The most effective presidents we have had have been folksy and Obama doesn't know folksy. Perhaps that was his failing of having grown up moving in and out of a variety of cultures. FDR, LBJ, Reagan all made huge changes because they had that folksy quality Joe has and yet a shrewd sense of the world.
07:13 AM on 04/28/2010
I would say that Bush (43) is also folksy. Effective not so much.

and he's a heartbeat away from the presidency.

Im no fan of Obama anymore, but at least he's intelligent. I'd rather have an intelligent president I disagree with than an aw shucks nice guy that has punchline fly out every time he opens his mouth.

After eight long, dark years of having one of the most despicable and humorless individual as a VP. It's nice to have a man with a sense of humor and sense as a VP.
