Eight people received kidney transplants from eight unrelated donors in the largest-ever kidney swap at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, hospital officials said today.
All 16 patients, ranging in age from 26 to 67, are doing well, said Dr. Joseph Leventhal, one of six transplant surgeons involved in the surgeries.
