John Hickenlooper Raises $1.1 Million During First Quarter In Governor's Race

Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper announced Thursday that his campaign raised $1.1 million in the first quarter of 2010. That's more money than Hickenlooper's likely opponent Scott McInnis raised through two quarters in 2009.

Hickenlooper has yet to release his first quarter numbers.

In an email, the Hickenlooper campaign said that the $1.1 million total came from over 5,000 individuals. The campaign says it has about $880,000 on hand.

Hickenlooper announced his candidacy for Governor on January 16 after current Governor Bill Ritter announced he would not seek reelection. Ritter raised $571,847 during the fourth quarter of 2009. He had raised roughly $2.5 million toward his reelection campaign prior to dropping out of the race.
