Next iPhone Could Launch During Apple's Developer Conference In June

Next Iphone Launch

Apple's next-generation iPhone--unofficially dubbed the iPhone 4G or iPhone HD--may be unveiled as soon as this coming June.

Apple has frequently used its Wordwide Developers Conference (WWDC) to launch the latest product--the iPhone 3G and 3GS were both revealed at the conference--and sources "familiar with the situation" tell Mashable that Apple could put the next iPhone on sale during the upcoming Apple event.

Steve Jobs is expected to give the keynote at Apple's WWDC on June 7, which could be when the phone is revealed.

There have been some additional clues that Apple may unveil a new iPhone model this summer. AT&T reportedly blocked employees from taking vacations in June. "The vacation ban for the carrier's employees leading up to an iPhone launch has previously come up in 2007 and 2008," CNET notes.

Wondering what the next-generation iPhone will look like and what it will offer? Check out photos, video, and features of Apple's forthcoming phone, which were leaked by Gizmodo.

Yes, everybody rush out to update your phone to this years model, then when the 4G networks come online next year you can do it again. Why?
Is it because your current phone doesn't work? No.
Is it because the new iPhone will be so much better? No.
Is it because Jobs says 'Buy' and you do? Yes.

If you want to waste your money on another minor Apple upgrade just so you can try to convince people how cool you are, be my guest.

You will have one hell of a wait. Launch in June with the product maybe making it to the shelves for Christmas. I hope you're patient.

Why do my comments keep getting scrubbed for saying I wish another carrier had the iPhone?

I wish they would offer iPhones on other networks besides AT & T.

In the past iPods used to get leaked at least one or two weeks in advance (usually from makers of accessories who got molds of the thing in advance). Jobs would handle it all with good humor on announcement day. I wonder how he'll act now since this was a clear internal goof up.

Hope the new iPhone is linked to a similar iPod Touch update. I'm planning on getting the back-to-school laptop-with-a-free-iPod bundle and it'd be to have a new version waiting.

Couldn't care less. 3GS was my first and last Apple product.

Every PC I've owned since Flash was invented could run Flash, the most popular video delivery system on the net.

The Iphone. No. And Jobs has announced that the new one won't either.

Obviously it could. He has decised that Ishould have acess to that content.

What an amazingly f-ed up company.

Flash is on the way out. It's all going to be HTML5 before long. Jobs just knows the way the wind's blowing.

Flash is a power hog and everyone knows it, it's just not a good platform for mobile devices where battery life is critical. Jobs was criticized when apple removed floppy drives from apple computers years ahed of everyone else - does your computer have one now? Believe me, two years from now you'll have trouble remembering what flash was...

I won't get the new iPhone or OS4 on my 3GS until it is jailbroken. I love using the MyWi app to use my iPhone's 3G data connection with my WiFi only iPad. I don't understand why anyone with an iPhone would get the 3G iPad, you're already paying $30 for an unlimited data plan on the iPhone, you might as well use it. http://www.macdaddynews.com/?p=2784

Is the MyWi app only available for jailbroken iPhones?
01:22 AM on 04/30/2010
Yes
It is an awesome program

My3G is awesome too which allows you to download any size file from itunes or the app store when not on wifi

If you have iPhone 3G, then go ahead and upgrade when the new iPhone is released. If you have 3GS, then just wait another year before your current one is done.

Oh OK, thanks.

I have been worried for months now and didn't know what to do.

But now that some random person on the web that doesn't even know any specifics about me made such a clear statement about what to do then I feel good about it.

It's fairly sound advice for people who might be thinking of upgrading their iPhone. No need to be a tr0ll. : \

Jobs, come back and talk to me once you have a contract with Verizon.
01:27 AM on 04/30/2010
There's a map for that

It's supposedly happening at some point. I'm waiting patiently (I hate AT&T, more than I want an iPhone). Honestly, once the iPhone goes to Verizon, I'm not sure what the point of Android phones will be. Running on he Verizon network was kind of their "thing."
