Arnold Schwarzenegger Wants To Be President

Schwarzenegger President

BURBANK, Calif. — Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger would love to run for president – if he could.

California's actor-turned-governor was born in Austria and the U.S. Constitution prevents foreign-born citizens from holding the nation's top job.

Jay Leno asked Schwarzenegger on "The Tonight Show" Thursday if he would make a White House run if the law was changed.

Schwarzenegger replied, "Without any doubt."

But that's not likely in the foreseeable future. Any amendment to the Constitution must be approved by two-thirds majorities in the House and Senate, and then be ratified by three-fourths of state legislatures.

Schwarzenegger spokesman Aaron McLear says the governor doesn't think that will happen.

Arnie is hoping that America changes the Constitution....he's really arrogant...Is that because he married into the Kennedy family? Whatever the reason, the country won't survive with him being in office, we' re still recovering from the last 4 presidents....

Seems rather strange that Arnold needs the Constitution to be amended, really... they aren't taking that approach with any of their other patently illegal activities?

Thank goodness the Constitution forbids it.

Love Arnold S the man, do not like the politician. What cracks me up is the "too conservative" comments and "never vote for another GOP president" again.
Are you liberals f@#%ing blind? You want what your sh!tty policies have done to CA spread across this nation?
Look at what CA has become and you'll see the future of the entire USA unless we stop ridiculous spending and government control. CA is billions of dollars in debt on the brink of bankruptcy with over 12% unemployment and they have NO ONE to blame but democrats and liberals. They have controlled that state for 30+ years and it continually goes further and further down the tank.
I suppose you want use to be more like Europe too where Greece is financially ruined, Spain's unemployment is over 20% and 1/3 of all people work for the government.

I am so glad there is a constitutional requirement for all presidential candidates to be born in the United States. California barely survived this man. I don't think America will. Last actor-president from California gave a destructive legacy to America as a parting gift.

I am sick of people thinking that politics and policy-making is easy and anyone can do it. It is hard and thankless job. We need smart people who understand complicated issues and are willing to learn what they don't know.

Why should the Constitution stand in the way? It didn't stop our current president.

My previous message was garbled, and not really worth the fixing. Still,
drop the "good" in "bad good, and make "The ban" "Then ban."

Oh, no. I would like a constitutional amendment that would ban professional
actors from public office. Yes I would. Well maybe just the bad good actors.
That would take care of Arnold, would have stopped Reagan. Such a fine
law that would be. The ban acting, period.

What's this fantasy? Schwarzenegger can never be elected president even if the Constitution is changed. A pro-choice Republican can never get the Republican nomination. And Democrats are too smart to pick someone like him.

I wish that were true, but the Gropenator has won twice in California. He is very dangerous because people believe him to be a moderate. They guy is not a moderate. He's a flaming antigovernment pro-private industry crusader. He vetoed single payer healthcare twice, sold out to the energy companies, and is currently cutting money to schools, the aged, parks, EPA, ... the man is a tea partier.

Arnold Schwarzenegger wants to be president! HUH, I don't dislike Mr.Schwarzenegger but I don't think hes done all that good of a job cleaning up California. So I'd hate to see another GOP president for the rest of my life, I've had it with Bushes, Reagon [no tax BS] Bushie had a big surplus and it vanished in no time with fighting a war WE didn't have to fight. lies lies lies. So Arnold you can't be president anyway - so go back to acting or retire and enjoy your time with your wife.
